Promoting the Irish Language in Loughrea
Gaeilge Locha Riach has been around for almost twenty-five years with the main goal of the organization being to promote Irish as a community language in Loughrea as well as to implement the Loughrea Language Plan and Gaeilge Locha Riach needs your help to achieve these goals.
Therefore, the organization intends to hold a public meeting to give the Loughrea and East Galway community an opportunity to have input on the priorities in terms of growing, developing and supporting the Irish language, not only in Loughrea, but on the eastern side of county Galway.
On the night, the public will have the opportunity to find out about the efforts to strengthen the Irish language in Loughrea thus far, an opportunity to meet people, and an opportunity to participate in Gaeilge Locha Riach projects. In addition, we will discuss the future of the Language Plan.
Join us for our meeting on Thursday 23 January from 7:30pm to 8:30pm in the Family Resource Centre followed by Gaeilge Locha Riach’s AGM which will take place in the same venue from 8:30 onwards. Everyone is welcome, both Irish and English speakers, and refreshments will be provided.
